Terms of Use

Last updated: 30 September 2026

1. Acceptance

By installing or using ShotPaper ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not install or use the App. These terms apply to every person who uses the App; if you use it on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you may bind that organisation.

2. Licence

Subject to your compliance with these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your personal or internal business use, and in the version delivered through Google Play. You may not sell, rent, sub-licence, redistribute, modify, decompile, reverse-engineer or create derivative works of the App, except where that restriction is prohibited by applicable law.

3. Requirements

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the App to:

5. Your content

You keep all rights to the documents, images, signatures and text you create with the App. Because everything is processed on your device, you grant us no rights over that content: we do not receive it, store it or use it for any purpose, including analytics, training or marketing.

You are solely responsible for the content you create and for how you use it, including whether it complies with the laws that apply to you and to the recipient of a document.

6. Our intellectual property

The App, including its name, logo, interface, design, text and code, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property law. Google Play, Android, Google Fonts and Font Awesome are trademarks of their respective owners. Nothing in these terms grants you any trademark licence.

7. Accuracy and availability

Automatic edge detection, page straightening, filters, OCR and QR reading are automated and can be wrong. Always check the result before relying on a scan, especially for legal, medical, financial or official documents. ShotPaper is a convenience tool, not a certified or forensic scanner, and its output does not by itself satisfy any legal or evidentiary requirement.

The App is provided "as is". We may change, suspend or withdraw features at any time, and the App may stop working after an operating-system update.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement and accuracy of results. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for any loss of data, documents, profit, revenue or goodwill, arising from the App or this website, even if we were advised such damage was possible. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months before the event, or the minimum required by law, whichever is higher.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence remain unaffected.

10. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the developer against any claim, demand, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the App, your content, or your breach of these terms.

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the App at any time; on Android, uninstalling it removes the files it created, so export anything you want to keep first. We may suspend or terminate your access where you breach these terms or where required by law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, such as ownership, warranties, liability and indemnity, do survive.

12. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms, for example to reflect a new feature or a change in the law. The "last updated" date shows the current version. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the revised terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in that jurisdiction have exclusive authority, unless mandatory consumer law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings locally.

14. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to the developer using the contact details published on the Google Play listing for ShotPaper, or through the website shotpaper.vixapps.com.
